For now, a seven frame houses model range has been registrated by our company. However, our cabins are readily adaptable and there are basically no limits to creation : you name it, we make it. It is a simple, yet demanding philosophy.
Our frame houses and stilt cabins are custom-built unique homes. They are exclusively made of natural and high quality timber : housing and horse-sense are brought together again.
Our leisure constructions are generally built in Oak, Douglas-fir, Red Cedar, North European spruce or Acacia. However, feel free to fancy luxury woods like Walnut tree. The choice is all yours
› Size and shape : From 5 to 35 square metres, the Arbogeste frame house or stilt cabin is built for leisure, lodging or tourism. You can, of course, get a larger habitable surface if you wish to build your main residence. In every case, the cabin is surrounded by a partially shaded terrace. Stilts support the planking. Most shapes are available : square, rectangle or octogonal.
› Floor covering : A 4 cm thick parquet floor.
› Timber guardrail : strong, young tree trunks.
› Coating :Your choice again : leave the timber unvarnished, or have it white washed : it gives the cabin a real "neat and clean" touch. Danish Oil can also be used for extra durability and protection. It gives a natural low lustre finish.
› Windows and doors :French windows, windows and velux have a double glazing in order to get a maximum pane surface and quality draught proofing.
› Stairs :Our all-wood stairs are handcrafted and custom-built. Winding, zigzag or straight : these stairs will make you reach your dreams.
› Walls :Key elements of the stilt cabin, the walls provide a draught-proof house. For your comfort, clapboards and all-wood timber blades are put edge-to-edge. We also build walls out of wood and straw with clay coating and lime-wash.
› Framework :we only use all-wood sections in order to get a steadfast, wind-resistant structure.
›Stilts : the Arbogeste cabin is always perched on stilts. These are made of strong tree trunks.
› Roofing :To get the most thermal inertia we offer you logic and different solutions. Plant roofing or thatched with 15 cm thickness, wood tiles or standard tiles.
› Insulation :To get the best temperature equilibrium using indirect solar heat, insulation must be perfect. We have systems of cellulose wadding based, hay based, feather based, hemp based, sheep’s wool based.
› Sanitation :External or internal toilet block can be installed including dry (composting) toilets and a shower.
› Water :We have rain water recovery systems, depending on local pluviometric conditions.
› Lightning conductor :To have a safer home we highly recomend the installation of a lightning conductor.
› Eolic power generators and photovoltaic solar pannels :We offer clean electricity sets to profit from a high quality comfort.
Between the cutting of the wood and the handing of the keys the period is from one to three months. Your log cabin on poles is unique, designed and handy crafted for you. Arbogeste creates original homes which are better adapted to the environment than conventional industrial houses and they provide a comfortable lifestyle.
